Teaching Assistants (NYS Teaching Assistant Certification Preferred)

West Genesee Central School District has immediate and anticipated openings for part-time Special Education Teaching Assistants for the upcoming school year at all buildings/levels.  Responsibilities include working with individual students or groups of students on instructional activities and tasks, and related work as required.

This is a 6.5-hour-per-day, 10-month position.

The West Genesee CSD has immediate openings for four full-time, twelve-month Custodial Workers I at our high school and elementary schools. The work hours are 3:30 pm - 11:30 pm.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

A Custodial Worker I performs routine cleaning and semi-skilled maintenance tasks and is responsible for the efficient and economical cleaning and maintenance of a school building or an assigned section. Duties typically include:

• Performing a variety of cleaning tasks (e.g., sweeping, mopping, waxing, vacuuming floors; dusting and polishing furniture; cleaning walls, restrooms, and fixtures).
• Making minor, non-technical repairs to building and equipment.
• Moving and arranging furniture and equipment.
• Operating and maintaining building cleaning equipment (e.g., buffers, floor scrubbers).
• Performing general grounds-keeping tasks such as snow removal or lawn care as needed.
• Reporting maintenance needs or concerns to a supervisor.
