Hours: Split shifts, typically morning and afternoon routes (hours may vary based on route assignments) Key Responsibilities -
The School Bus Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of students to and from school and school-related activities. -
Operate a school bus safely and professionally in all types of weather conditions. -
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure operational safety (e.g., checking tires, brakes, lights, and emergency equipment). -
Maintain order and discipline among student passengers according to West Genesee CSD policies. -
Adhere strictly to all traffic laws and school district regulations. -
Communicate effectively with students, parents, school staff, and the Transportation Department. -
Complete necessary paperwork, including route sheets and incident reports. -
Attend all required safety meetings and training sessions. | $31.65 per hour |
| Auto Mechanic | 34 | West Genesee CSD currently has an immediate opening for a full-time, 12-month Auto Mechanic in our Transportation Department. - Repair and maintain all school vehicles under the supervision of the Head Mechanic.
- Perform preventive maintenance brake checks and oil changes as required by the Department of Transportation and to enhance the overall vehicle life.
- Perform body repairs and painting of vehicles as regulations permit on an as need basis.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
- Prepare buses for Department of Transportation Inspections.
- Drive school bus in an emergency situation as determined by the Director of Transportation or designee.
- Perform other work as assigned, within the Civil Service classification.
