The West Genesee Central School District is seeking a reliable, skilled Maintenance Worker to join our facilities team. You will be responsible for the upkeep, repair, and general maintenance of our buildings and grounds to ensure a safe and functional environment for all students, staff, and community members.
The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with broad mechanical and trade knowledge. Specifically, we are looking for an individual with demonstrated skill in small engine maintenance and repairs to ensure the longevity and reliability of the district’s specialized equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- General Repair: Perform semi-skilled carpentry, plumbing, and electrical repairs.
- Systems Upkeep: Assist in the maintenance of HVAC, mechanical, and security systems.
- Grounds Care: Maintain district athletic fields and grounds; operate tractors, mowers, and snow removal equipment as needed.
- Safety & Compliance: Conduct routine safety inspections and identify potential hazards to ensure compliance with New York State school building regulations.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Director of Facilities to complete work orders and prepare facilities for district-wide events.
