Position Summary: West Genesee CSD is seeking dedicated and reliable Building Substitutes for annual appointments. This position is a great opportunity for certified teachers to become an integral part of a specific school's staff, providing consistent coverage and support within one building. Building Substitutes are not intended to cover a single long-term absence but rather to fill in for daily teacher absences throughout the school year.

Key Responsibilities & Details:

  • Work all days on the teacher calendar, including Superintendent Conference Days.
  • Report to a single, assigned school building daily to cover for various teacher absences.
  • Maintain professionalism and follow all established school and district policies.
  • The position may be subject to abolishment mid-year if circumstances change.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary: The annual salary is $33,670.
  • Sick Days: Earn 1.2 sick days per full calendar month worked, which accrue monthly and carry over from one school year to the next.
  • Personal Business Days: Receive three personal business days per year. Unused personal days at the end of the school year will be added to your sick day balance.
  • Health Insurance:
    • Less than 5 years of continuous service: Eligible to participate in the District-provided Health Insurance Plan by contributing 100% of the cost.
    • After 5 years of continuous service: Eligible to participate in the District-provided Individual Health Insurance plan by contributing 10% of the premium.
